Pastoral Care Team
Alison Parish leads the Pastoral Care Team of St Paul's, Katikati in providing spiritual, emotional and practical support for members of the congregation.
Each member of the congregation is assigned a Pastoral Care Visitor who endeavours to visit those in their care at least twice per year. All Elders at St Paul's are Pastoral Care Visitors, however, given the size of the congregation, their are others who have volunteered to serve in this role.
If you are unaware of who your Pastoral Care Visitor is, or if you are in need of a visit, please contact Alison Parish.
Honorary Pastor Visiting Many
Since Lindsay Coop was appointed assistant pastor many people around the parish have appreciated visits by him and Dorothy. Lindsay is a retired Baptist Minister and teacher. Their pastoral skills are a wonderful gift to our church.
Lindsay and Dorothy's visiting is extending our pastoral care beyond what Martin, and the elders, and the pastoral care team led by Alison Parish, and the small groups continue to do. In particular, Lindsay and Dorothy focus on our senior parishioners and those with special needs.
When asked about his role Lindsay said, “Whichever way you look at our growing numbers, to maintain regular pastoral care has no easy solution. Some may need concentrated help for a period which puts others down the line as it were. We enjoy our work , which the elders have asked us to do. If you have not yet had us call, please do not hesitate to phone us or email us and we will make a time to visit. This all helps us to become better Lifelong Followers of Jesus.”
