St Paul's assists our community through contributions to the Katikati Christian Helpline & Foodbank and through referrals to a variety of community service groups.

The Minister's Association, formed from several of the local churches, also supports and organises a number of initiatives in the community.

Reach Out Trust

A legal entity formed by the Minister's Association and for which the Ministers are the trustees with the intent to ensure Christian education and mentoring for young people of High School age.  The Trust is an umbrella organization with responsibility for programmes within the community network.

Bible in Schools

Each week during school term, a half hour programme is offered to year 5 and 6 students (age 9 & 10) at the local Primary School.  The programme using the “Religion in Life” curriculum is interdenominational and funded by the Minister's Association.

Mentoring

Initially a group of people from the Katikati area would meet fortnightly to pray for the young people in this area.  Out of this prayer group, a vision grew for mentoring in order to do something more specific for young people.

The idea of a mentoring programme for youth was sanctioned by the Minister's Association and a structure put in place to research the needs of youth and find financial support for the programme.

Youth identified to take part in the programme are matched with the appropriate adult mentor and times organized for them to meet on a regular basis.  Some of these youth would not otherwise have this type of relationship through their home environment.  Time is spent one on one and fun group activities are organized on a regular basis.
