News from the Aukinos in Bolivia
Over the past months we have encouraged churches to re-examine their vision for Mission and Evangelism through studies and teaching on the Great Commission (Mathew 28:16-20).
With all the Bibles (1500 in total) sold, we anticipate purchasing more but in smaller quantities for coming evangelistic engagements. Thanks so much for supporting Bibles for Bolivia. For Christmas, we decided to give out Bibles as gifts to our neighbours, shop proprietors in the community, clinics and small businesses in the market place. These folks are not Christians YET, but have made some interesting comments:

New Morning Church
For two months we committed ourselves to teaching, equipping, and encouraging leaders and members in this church that was without a pastor at the time. We touched on areas like punctuality, church weekly and monthly programs, prayer meetings, worship leading and preaching and teaching. It was wonderful to discover the gifted preachers and teachers amongst them. We were invited to a Father's Day outreach service and twenty people accepted Christ. Pray for this church. They once were actively involved in open air Evangelistic meetings where people came to the Lord.
Two Congregations Unite
Following some difficult and unsettling periods, the Voice of Hope congregation unanimously decided to unite with the New Canaan church. Currently, they're without a pastor and have chosen new leaders and are in the process of paying off the property. Work has begun on an adjacent building which when completed will be for Sunday school classes. The Children's happy hour program has 40 plus children attending.
Evangelism
Over the last 4 months we have been invited to speak at 7 Evangelistic meetings, conferences, mission meetings and several visits to encourage small congregations that are difficult to get to when it rains. I make it a point at every meeting to invite people to come to the Lord. Altogether, eighty people have accepted the Lord and large numbers of people of all ages come forward for reconciliation.
New Jerusalem Church: Missions Sunday
We are encouraged by this church's active involvement in Missions. Twelve years ago they caught a vision for Missions working in a local setting through evangelistic campaigns in the church and community at the local market, basketball and mini football courts. In the year 2000 they launched out to Cuba adopting a Cuban pastor and his family as their missionary. Today they support two Pastors with their families, a Christian worker, plus Nancy - a member of their church. They are helping 12 congregations, most of which are in Cuba. They envisage re-opening another work in Uruguay on the southern end of Bolivia. This work was abandoned for lack of labourers. Pray that the Lord will raise up someone from the church to recommence the ministry in Uruguay and for their adopted missionaries and workers in Cuba.
Youth Camp
Due to torrential rain, flooding, and over thirty landslides on the proposed route to the campsite closing the road, the youth leaders decided to hold the Youth Camp in the church. Even the roads to the church were washed out. The theme for the camp was Christian youth in the Community. I reminded 70 to 80 young people that God has called us to be lights in our community. Most of them recommitted themselves to Christ on the first night of the camp. Pray for these Youth Camps. So much time is devoted to fun and games and social activities and excessive noise. Very little time is spent on serious study of God's word and Prayer.
Flood
During the months of January to March, Bolivia experienced extensive flooding. Over 120,000 people were left homeless. For the worst affected areas the provision of medical aid, food supplies and building materials from different countries, was excellent, including national help. The good news is that many people have returned to their homes. Thank you for praying and for your gifts for flood relief.
Praise God
For His love and faithfulness, watching over us, meeting all our physical and spiritual needs and enabling us to serve HIM with diligence amongst the Bolivians
For the Bolivians involved in different ministries in spite of the "labourers being few".
For your prayers and generous support; Bibles for Bolivia, maintenance of our Jeep, aid for flood relief and personal gifts
Pray For
The anointing of the Holy Spirit upon His word in coming engagements, evangelistic meetings
Conferences and visits to congregations needing encouragement
Protection, expecially travelling in the evenings. Every downpour reshapes country roads creating new potholes and enlarging existing ones.
